Fertility Treatment for Same Sex Couples in NJ
LGBTQ Family Building Options Near You
We’ve been helping LGBTQ patients accomplish their goals of having a family to call their own since the inception of South Jersey Fertility Center in 1989. Same sex couples have unique fertility needs, which require a sensitive, supportive and knowledgeable approach. Fortunately, patients can see an excellent chance of success through South Jersey Fertility Center’s extensive LGBTQ family planning near the greater Atlantic City and Philadelphia areas.
The World Health Organization states, “Reproductive rights rest on the recognition of the basic right of all couples and individuals to decide freely and responsibly the number, spacing and timing of their children and to have the information and means to do so, and the right to attain the highest standard of sexual and reproductive health.” All of us at SJFC wholeheartedly endorse this sentiment and firmly believe in everyone’s right to have the dream of parenthood fulfilled in the way that best suits the couple.
Fertility Options for Female Same Sex Couples
South Jersey Fertility Center offers LGBTQ family planning in New Jersey for female same sex couples living near our South Jersey locations.
The most common treatment for female couples seeking fertility assistance in New Jersey is insemination with donor sperm. The donated sperm is then inserted into the recipient woman’s uterus through an IUI procedure.
In Vitro Fertilization
Another popular option among female couples is an IVF procedure. Commonly referred to as a “Co-IVF,” this fertility treatment route at SJFC is also called “Reciprocal IVF.” This treatment begins when the egg from one partner is fertilized with donor sperm. The resulting embryo is then transferred to the other partner to carry for the pregnancy. Either individual of an LGBTQ couple can have embryos transferred with the option of cryopreservation to space out their pregnancies if requested.
Fertility Options for Male Same Sex Couples
South Jersey Fertility Center also offers equivalent LBGTQ family planning opportunities for male same sex couples in New Jersey living near or in close proximity to our office locations.
Our Egg Donor Program
For same sex male couples who want to build their family in New Jersey, a gestational carrier and separate egg donor. The egg donor program at South Jersey Fertility Center allows couples to select a suitable egg donor; the newly acquired egg is then fertilized and transferred into a carrier to term also selected by the couple. If desired, both men will have the chance to take part in the process by each providing sperm to fertilize the egg. Our donor egg coordinator will work closely with you to set up all psychological and legal requirements needed to successfully complete this process.
