Like many women, Gina always dreamed of having children with her husband, Pete. They married in October 2019, full of hope and excitement about starting a family. At the time, she had never experienced fertility issues and assumed their path to parenthood would be smooth. After six months of trying to conceive without success, Gina’s OB/GYN recommended she see a fertility specialist.

In May 2020, Gina had her first consultation with a fertility expert – walking in nervous but optimistic, believing the process would be quick and easy. Instead, her journey turned out to be far more challenging than she could have imagined. Gina often felt frustrated, wondering why her body wasn’t working the way it was supposed to. She questioned why she had the ability to create life but couldn’t seem to use it. Newly married, she deeply desired to become a mother.
Celebrating success and navigating loss.
On her second IUI (intrauterine insemination) treatment cycle, Gina was thrilled to learn she was finally pregnant. Her daughter, Gia, was born in April 2021, and Gina was overjoyed to finally be a mother! The road ahead remained difficult as she wanted to expand her family and have another child. Gina was excited to get pregnant naturally, but unfortunately miscarried. She returned to South Jersey Fertility Center to begin fertility treatments. She hoped that IUI would work for her once more, but this time around, they were not successful. Determined to not give up, Gina pursued IVF (In Vitro Fertilization) as a new treatment option, yielding much higher success rates. She went through multiple egg retrievals, and although she endured loss and heartbreak, but her persistence resulted in a successful IVF embryo transfer and her son, Pete III was born in April 2025.

Despite these hardships, Gina never stopped believing in her dream of expanding her family. She has endured five pregnancies, two healthy deliveries, and multiple miscarriages, including an emergency C-section. Every step of the way, she has shown extraordinary courage, love, and determination. Her story reflects the painful realities so many families face in their pursuit of parenthood—but also the hope that carries them forward. Gina remains proud of her journey and continues to hold onto her dream, knowing that each struggle has made her stronger. She encourages others to stay strong, keep trying, and to know there is a light on the other side!
