Q&A With Dana Dionot, APN-C

Infertility Support

Get to know Dana

Q: Why did you go into the field of reproductive medicine?
A: I have always been passionate about women’s health, throughout all stages. Prior to working at South Jersey Fertility, I started my nursing career on a high-risk antenatal unit at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital where I was able to assist women during some of the most complicated and stressful pregnancies. Then, I transitioned to the labor and delivery unit for six years where I was able to experience the joy with my patients the moment we placed their babies into their arms. Now at SJF, my focus is on supporting the many woman that struggle to become parents. I couldn’t be happier with my decision!

Q: What do you think makes South Jersey Fertility special?
A: We encompass a family culture that allows us to work as a team to deliver upon the goals of our patients. All of our patients have different family goals and we work with them to build a mutual plan for success. Each provider and team member emphasize the value of relationships and family structure.

Q: What is the most rewarding part of your job?
A: I truly love what I do! There are several rewarding parts of my job and that is why I love being a part of the SJF family. I really enjoy the ability to be a part of my patient’s entire journey from start to finish – wherever their journey takes them. I especially love experiencing the joy of hearing a baby’s heartbeat for the first time and sharing in that special moment. It’s amazing to experience the joy of seeing my patients and their children, when they visit our offices or send pictures.

Q: What do you think is the most interesting technology that fertility has to offer?
A: The innovative technology of pre-implantation genetic testing is a great option for many of our patients. With the ability to test for chromosomes and/or genetic conditions prior to implantation, these couples are able to avoid invasive testing, worry, and stress that come with diagnosis in utero or as a newborn.

Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?
A: Tahiti or Bora Bora! I dream of staying in a private hut over the crystal blue ocean, especially during this stressful pandemic.
