Gender Selection in NJ
What is Gender Selection?
Gender/sex selection is a technique used to select the gender of the baby prior to pregnancy. This technology is often used for family balancing, where couples who already have children of one gender and a child of the other gender is desired.
How Does Gender Selection Work?
Sex Selection involves using In-Vitro Fertilization (IVF) with Pre-implantation genetic testing for aneuploidy (PGT-A, formerly called PGS). In the IVF process, a woman’s eggs are retrieved and fertilized to create embryos. These embryos are screened to determine the sex of each embryo The last step of the process is to have the embryo of the desired gender transferred into the uterus to establish pregnancy.
